भारत-नेपाल सीमा पर स्थित मैत्री पुल पर शुक्रवार को सशस्त्र सीमा बल (एसएसबी) की 47वीं बटालियन ने एक बांग्लादेशी नागरिक को गिरफ्तार किया है। यह गिरफ्तारी तब हुई जब युवक के पास भारत में प्रवेश के लिए कोई वैध वीजा या आवश्यक दस्तावेज नहीं पाए गए।
गिरफ्तार व्यक्ति की पहचान और प्रारंभिक पूछताछ
गिरफ्तार किए गए व्यक्ति की पहचान सैयद सफीकुर रहमान के 43 वर्षीय पुत्र सैयद इकबाल के रूप में हुई है, जो बांग्लादेश के चमोला का निवासी है। प्रारंभिक पूछताछ में इकबाल ने बताया कि वह आठ दिन पहले बांग्लादेश की राजधानी ढाका से फ्लाइट से नेपाल की राजधानी काठमांडू पहुंचा था। इसके बाद वह भारत-नेपाल की खुली सीमा का फायदा उठाकर अवैध रूप से भारत में प्रवेश करने की कोशिश कर रहा था।
भारत में प्रवेश की मंशा पर सवाल
जब एसएसबी के जवानों ने सैयद इकबाल से भारत में प्रवेश के उद्देश्य के बारे में पूछा, तो उसने बताया कि उसकी योजना इलाहाबाद (प्रयागराज) होते हुए अजमेर शरीफ जाने की थी। एसएसबी ने उसे तुरंत हिरासत में ले लिया और आगे की पूछताछ के लिए खुफिया एजेंसियों को सूचित किया। इसके बाद विभिन्न सुरक्षा एजेंसियां मौके पर पहुंचीं और उससे गहन पूछताछ शुरू कर दी।
बरामदगी और आगे की जांच
पूछताछ के दौरान सैयद इकबाल के पास से नेपाली मुद्रा भी बरामद हुई है। हरैया थानाध्यक्ष किशन कुमार पासवान ने बताया कि इकबाल से गहनता से पूछताछ की जा रही है ताकि यह पता चल सके कि वह भारत में किस उद्देश्य से प्रवेश करना चाहता था और उसके पीछे कोई बड़ी साजिश तो नहीं है।
सीमा पर सुरक्षा बढ़ी
इस घटना के बाद भारत-नेपाल सीमा पर सुरक्षा एजेंसियों की सतर्कता और बढ़ा दी गयी है। यह ध्यान देने योग्य है कि हाल के दिनों में इसी सीमा से कई विदेशी नागरिकों की गिरफ्तारियां हुई हैं, जिनमें चार चीनी नागरिक भी शामिल थे, जो सीमा पार करने की कोशिश कर रहे थे। यह घटना सीमा सुरक्षा के महत्व को और बढ़ा देती है।
Bangladeshi National Iqbal Arrested While Infiltrating India via Nepal: Intense Interrogation Underway
A Bangladeshi national, Iqbal, has been arrested while attempting to infiltrate India through Nepal. He was apprehended at the Maitri Bridge on the India-Nepal border by the 47th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Iqbal was caught as he possessed no valid visa or necessary documents for entry into India.
Identity and Initial Interrogation
The arrested individual has been identified as 43-year-old Syed Iqbal, son of Syed Safiqur Rahman, a resident of Chamola, Bangladesh. During initial questioning, Iqbal stated that he had flown from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, to Kathmandu, Nepal, eight days prior. He was then trying to illegally enter India by exploiting the open India-Nepal border.
Suspected Motive for Entry
When pressed by SSB personnel about his purpose for entering India, Iqbal claimed he was planning to go to Ajmer Sharif via Allahabad (Prayagraj). The SSB immediately took him into custody and informed intelligence agencies for further questioning. Subsequently, various security agencies arrived at the scene and began an in-depth interrogation.
Recoveries and Ongoing Investigation
During the interrogation, Nepalese currency was recovered from Syed Iqbal. Hareya Station House Officer, Kishan Kumar Paswan, stated that Iqbal is being intensively questioned to ascertain his true objective for entering India and to determine if there is any larger conspiracy behind his actions.
Heightened Border Security
Following this incident, vigilance has been significantly increased by security agencies along the India-Nepal border. It’s worth noting that several foreign nationals, including four Chinese citizens, have been arrested attempting to cross this very border recently. This incident further underscores the critical importance of border security.
