मोतिहारी | चिरैया | शिकारगंज बाजार स्थित दुकान में सो रहे एक किराना व्यवसायी की अज्ञात बदमाशों ने गमछे से गला घोंट कर हत्या कर दी है। यह चौंकाने वाली घटना शनिवार देर रात की बतायी जा रही है। मृतक सिरौना गॉव निवासी 64 वर्षीय विश्वनाथ साह थे।
मृतक कौन थे?
मृतक की पहचान 64 वर्षीय विश्वनाथ साह के रूप में हुई है। वह स्वर्गीय हरदेव साह के पुत्र थे और शिकारगंज थाना क्षेत्र के सिरौना गांव के निवासी थे।
कैसे हुई घटना?
विश्वनाथ साह की शिकारगंज बाजार स्थित दुर्गा मंदिर के पास किराने की दुकान थी। घटना की रात वह अपनी दुकान में ही सो रहे थे, जैसा कि वह अक्सर करते थे। रविवार की सुबह करीब 7 बजे, उनका भतीजा दुकान खोलने गया। उसने देखा कि उसके चाचा मृत पड़े थे।
पुलिस कर रही जांच
परिवार ने तुरंत 112 पर कॉल करके अपराध की सूचना दी। जैसे ही खबर फैली, इलाके में सनसनी फैल गई और दुकान पर भारी भीड़ जमा हो गई। शिकारगंज थानाध्यक्ष संतोष कुमार अपनी टीम के साथ घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे और मामले की छानबीन की। पुलिस ने शव को अपने कब्जे में लिया, आवश्यक कार्यवाही पूरी की और पोस्टमार्टम के लिए सदर अस्पताल मोतिहारी भेज दिया।
परिवार को लूटपाट का शक
परिवार का मानना है कि अपराधी दुकान की पिछली दीवार के सहारे छत पर चढ़े होंगे और फिर सीढ़ी से दुकान में घुसकर घटना को अंजाम दिया होगा। वे जांच में सहायता के लिए डॉग स्क्वायड बुलाने की भी मांग कर रहे हैं।
“चाचा दुकान पर ही सोते थे,” भतीजे ने बताया
मृतक के भतीजे संजय कुमार जायसवाल ने बताया कि उनके चाचा दुकान में ही सोते थे। जब वह दुकान खोलने गए, तो दुकान का ग्रिल अंदर से बंद था। उन्होंने अंदर झांक कर देखा तो उनके चाचा के गले में लाल रंग का गमछा बंधा हुआ था, कान से खून निकल रहा था और वह जमीन पर मृत पड़े थे। लोगों की मदद से दरवाजा खोला गया। उन्हें आशंका है कि उनके चाचा का गला घोंट कर हत्या की गई है।
बदमाशों ने दुकान से 85 हजार रुपये लूटे
यह माना जा रहा है कि बदमाश लूटपाट के इरादे से ही दुकान में घुसे होंगे। संजय, भतीजे ने बताया कि शायद चाचाजी की हत्या लूटपाट का विरोध करने पर कर दी गई है। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि उनके चाचा के शरीर पर दो-तीन जगह चाकू या किसी नुकीली चीज से वार करने के निशान भी मिले हैं। इसके अलावा, दुकान के दराज में रखे 85 हजार रुपये भी गायब थे, जबकि दुकान का बाकी सारा सामान वैसा ही पड़ा था।
बेटे का इंतजार, फिर होगा अंतिम संस्कार
पोस्टमार्टम के बाद पुलिस ने शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया है। परिवार विश्वनाथ साह के इकलौते बेटे संतोष कुमार जायसवाल के आने का इंतजार कर रहा है। संतोष नेपाल की राजधानी काठमांडू में रहकर अपना जीवनयापन करते हैं। रविवार देर रात उनके पहुंचने के बाद शव का अंतिम संस्कार किया जाएगा। विश्वनाथ साह की पत्नी का निधन 2014 में ही हो गया था। जैसे ही शव गांव पहुंचा, ग्रामीणों की भीड़ उमड़ पड़ी और परिजनों की चीख पुकार से पूरा माहौल गमगीन हो गया।
मृतक एक शांत स्वभाव के व्यक्ति थे
ग्राम कचहरी सिरौना के सरपंच कुमार सौरभ ने बताया कि मृतक बहुत ही सरल और शांत स्वभाव के व्यक्ति थे। उनका किसी के साथ कभी कोई बुरा व्यवहार नहीं रहा।
पुलिस जांच में जुटी
थानाध्यक्ष संतोष कुमार ने बताया कि पुलिस घटना की जांच में जुट गई है। उन्हें अभी तक मृतक के परिजनों की ओर से कोई आवेदन पत्र प्राप्त नहीं हुआ है। आवेदन पत्र मिलते ही प्राथमिकी दर्ज कर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

Who Was the Victim?
The person who died was identified as Vishwanath Sah, aged 64. He was the son of the late Hardev Sah and lived in Sirauna village, which comes under Shikarganj police station.
How Did the Incident Unfold?
Vishwanath Sah owned a grocery shop near Durga Temple in Shikarganj market. On the night of the incident, he was sleeping inside his shop, as he often did. On Sunday morning, around 7 AM, his nephew went to open the shop. He was horrified to find his uncle lying dead.
Police Investigate the Scene
The family immediately called Dial 112 to report the crime. As the news spread, there was a lot of shock and sadness in the area, and many people gathered at the shop. Shikarganj Station Head, Santosh Kumar, along with his team, arrived at the scene to investigate. The police took the body, completed the necessary procedures, and sent it to Sadar Hospital Motihari for a post-mortem examination.
Family Suspects Break-in and Robbery
The family believes that the criminals might have climbed onto the roof using the back wall of the shop and then entered the shop through the stairs. They are also asking for a dog squad to be called in to help with the investigation.
“Uncle Used to Sleep at the Shop,” Says Nephew
Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, the victim’s nephew, explained that his uncle always slept in the shop. When he went to open the shop, the grill was locked from the inside. He peeked inside and saw a red scarf tied around his uncle’s neck, blood coming from his ear, and him lying dead on the floor. With the help of others, they opened the door. He suspects his uncle was strangled to death.
Criminals Stole Rs 85,000 from the Shop
It is believed that the criminals entered the shop with the intention of robbing it. Sanjay, the nephew, said that his uncle might have been killed because he resisted the robbery. He also mentioned that there were two or three marks on his uncle’s body, possibly from a knife or a sharp object. Additionally, Rs 85,000 kept in the shop’s drawer was missing, while all other items in the shop were untouched.
Family Awaits Son for Funeral
After the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the family. The family is waiting for Vishwanath Sah’s only son, Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, to arrive. Santosh lives and works in Kathmandu, Nepal. The funeral will take place on Sunday late night after his arrival. Vishwanath Sah’s wife passed away in 2014. When the body reached the village, a large crowd of villagers gathered, and the cries of the family made the whole atmosphere very sad.
Victim Was a Kind Person
Kumar Saurabh, the head of Gram Kachahri Sirauna, stated that Vishwanath Sah was a very simple and peaceful person. He never had any bad behavior towards anyone.
Police Continue Investigation
Station Head Santosh Kumar said that the police are actively investigating the incident. They have not yet received a formal complaint from the victim’s family. Once the application is received, a First Information Report (FIR) will be filed, and further action will be taken.
